Our strong focus on sustainability entails prioritising sustainable purchasing, reuse whenever possible, sensible waste management, eco-friendly cleaning practices, and a focus on continuous improvements with regards to environmental practices. We have, for instance, purchased chairs and tables that Nordic Comfort Products (NCP) produces from recycled plastics. These products are a result of NCP’s collaboration with the internationally renowned designers at Snøhetta.

We are preserving an architectural gem in the heart of Mo i Rana. The Old Museum Building has been modernised in a sustainable and eco-friendly way. We have carefully retained its heritage and special character, while adding modern facilities and amenities.

Our priorities are:

  • Sustainable purchasing
  • Reuse whenever possible
  • Sensible waste management
  • Thorough, eco-friendly cleaning
  • A focus on continuous improvements, also with regards to environmental practices

At our events, the public will be seated in chairs that we purchased from Nordic Comfort Products. Likewise for the courses and conferences held at Park 22. Our chairs and tables are produced by NCP from recycled plastics from the aquaculture industry. One of their chairs is the result of NCP’s collaboration with the internationally renowned designers at Snøhetta.

The bar at Byscena does not use plastic straws. Many of our mats, including the conspicuous green runners, come from our partner Clima and the local producer Heymat. The mat fibre is made of 100 % recycled plastic. Our cleaning is carried out by Miljørent, a firm that primarily uses just clean water without any added chemicals, applied with microfibre mops and cleaning cloths. For cleaning toilets and sanitary facilities, they exclusively use eco-certified cleaning agents, such as those that carry the Nordic Swan logo. If you order takeaway food from The Lounge, it comes in eco-friendly packaging.

As mentioned elsewhere, Park 22 is conveniently situated in the heart of Mo i Rana, near hotels and other services. We encourage our visitors to walk, or ride a bicycle or electric scooter to get here, and to go between their destinations in town.

We shall continue to strive to further improve our sustainable policies and eco-friendly profile, always in collaboration with the public, our clients, and our partners. This was underscored in December of 2021, when Park 22 reached a milestone – that’s when we became certified as an Environmental Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn).
